I am looking for everyone's best Bible or Christian resources on line or not.  What is your favorite translation of the Bible and why?

My favorite translation for memorizing scripture is the KJV.

    I like the Layman's Parallel Version (because it presents 4 parallel Texts of the same Scripture). I suggest: Proverbs 11:14
    " 14) Where there is no guidance; a people falls... But in an Abundance of Counselors there is Safety. " Why not many Versions; many flavors of the Same same Text. Slight differences that tell more than just one Translation can cover. It seems like a good idea to me.

    We should talk to Andy about it. He implied that there were actually groups of translations. I would be interested in how he catalogs them.
